About

Welcome to Tia Wellness Co

Tia Wellness Co was inspired by a cup of tea. The simple ritual of preparing and drinking tea is an invitation to slow down and connect with ourselves, our community, and the healing properties of plants.

Tia Wellness Co is an invitation to do the same. Through workshops, events and one-on-one sessions, I aim to create spaces and opportunities for you to slow down and connect with yourself and with community. I also create small-batch, seasonally inspired tea blends for you to sip on to nourish yourself and share with loved ones.

About Rachel

I began studying various healing modalities at a young age, and I've always been interested in the ways that different people and cultures approach health and wellness. I initially set out to become a nurse, but I realized early on that the Western medical model seemed to be missing some critical components when it came to teaching people and communities how to lead healthy lives. My own health challenges led me to explore a wide array of both Western and alternative healing modalities, and required me to develop a personal holistic roadmap to return to a state of balance and wholeness.

The cultivation of a healthy lifestyle led me to new sense of empowerment that I wanted to share with others, so I received my Master's of Science in Health and Wellness Management, with an emphasis on health and wellness coaching. I've also received certifications in yoga, herbal medicine and reiki. I aim to empower people and communities to build and lead healthier, richer lives, through providing education, resources and support.

Why Tia?

In my family, the aunts were all called Tia by my nephew. In 2017, we lost our Tia Janice to cancer. Her and I shared a special bond, and she shared with me her love of plants, nourishing food, creating healing environments, and a good belly laugh. My other Tias have played a significant role in my life, offering a strong sense of support and care as I've navigated the ups and downs of life.

Now that I am a Tia, I intend to carry on the legacy of offering care to those who need it by way of sharing healing teas, environments and practices, and hopefully some good belly laughs along the way!
